Copy the contents of the DVD onto your harddisk. On may PCs, the contents will eventually be automatically indexed, so that you can search the contents using your PC's standard search tools. My preferred method: I use Google Desktop on a PC running Microsoft Vista (2010). The DVD's contents is copied onto the C drive. Usage examples: The following Google Desktop search term under:"c:\history" wie finds all pages and indexed PDF files containing the searchterm "wie" (see illustration above). When I tested the following search term today under:"c:\history" filetype:pdf Janeiro Google desktop found the term "Janeiro" in six scanned articles, from 1995, 1996, 1999, and 2000. You may limit the search to a year, as in under:"c:\history\1999". Your options are almost endless. |
